Just another fool that messed with UMAF and bricked their Handheld.
I ordered a CH341 Programmer and instantly realized i had a problem when the chip was WSON8 form factor.
I tried using the stock clip connector SOP8 and it wasn't working, i realize most people desolder these chips but im really trying to avoid that.
I modified the SOP8 so there was pins and it was more of a probe, i have access to the pads. Chat GPT told me this IC was 3.3v but i found one reddit post saying its 1.8v.
Did i fry my chip with 3.3v when attempting to detect it with neoprogrammer? Must have been a very poor contact if any..
And is there anyone else that has Rog Ally Handheld first hand knowledge that can give me any tips?
I cant desolder, i notice online there is WSON8 Probes for programming those appear like they will work?
Anybody flash these on board? What hardware did you use? At this point i dont even know if i can handle the bios image repair process its been a hassle.
My Ally has been bricked for 6 months just gathering dust.
