    HP Victus 15-fb1013dx no power

Hi there. I'm pretty new to motherboard repair so I'm hoping that I could get some help with this laptop that's giving me some trouble.

It's an HP victus 15-fb1013dx with a ryzen 5 7535hs and rtx 2050. When the power adapter is plugged in, the charging light on the side of the laptop will turn orange, but no voltage goes to the battery. When I press the power button, the power light turns on for a second, but turns back off.

I tried measuring voltage at all of the large coils on the motherboard and i've marked the measured voltage in my attached pic. all coils (except for one) showed a voltage for a second when the power button was pressed, but disapeared a second later.

I found that one of the caps near the battery connector was shorted, also circled on the pic. I tried removing that capacitor but the short remains, .6 Ohms. No change in the behavior of the laptop or coils voltages.

I'm looking for some general guidance. What should I look for next? I've tried looking for some schematics for this laptop but I understand that none are available. For the cap that I removed, would it be safe to inject voltage to see if there's another component that's causing that short, or is it normal? it's very hard to trace because it's a short to ground and the traces on the board are very hard to follow.
