Hello, I'm troubleshooting an HP Elitebook 840 G3 with corrosion on the board, it powers up fine and lights up a few LEDs and the keyboard backlight but doesn't do anything else (screen fully off, no beepcodes).
3v3, 5v, 1.2v ddr4, 1.8v, 1v rails are present, but I don't see Vcore or VCCGPU. The board had lots of corrosion near some USB-C controller chip, and some corrosion on NCP81208 (I believe this one is the culprit). I fixed a couple of traces near the chip, everything appears fine and not corroded now. The NCP81208 is getting VCC (5v) and EN (around 3v) yet it doesn't do anything, checked with an oscilloscope on most pins.
From the datasheet, it seems this IC doesn't need much more than VCC and EN to start switching? Does anyone know better? I haven't been able to find a schematic for this board (6050A2892401-MB-A01)
Attached a pic of the board when I received it (NCP81208 on the left of the KBC chip).
