[Model] Acer A114-61L (DA0Z8XMB6D0 REV. D) — OEM partitions wiped, need firehose (EDL / QSIP 7180)

Hello everyone,

I have an Acer A114-61L laptop (motherboard: DA0Z8XMB6D0 REV. D) where the OEM partitions were accidentally wiped using the diskpart -> clean command. Now the laptop no longer boots, but it does show signs of life:

• Power consumption is around 22 mA when powered on
• It can be switched into EDL mode, where it is detected as Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008
• I would like to try restoring the GPT/partitions via EDL

To access storage in EDL mode, I need a firehose loader.

Does anyone happen to have a compatible firehose for QSIP 7180?

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

No idea on the partition issue but with 22mA current consumption, the logic board is not booting. That is, the disk partitions are not involved at this stage of the boot process.

Suspecting that you do not have video on the display?

What is the history of the machine? You will need to confirm the power path from the external power adapter onto the main power rail to review this fault. Most likely, the issue is linked to the usual suspects of the 2 x DCin mosfets. See the sticky above on charger circuits by piernov.

My friend tried reinstalling Windows but ran into an error during the file copy stage. He wiped the disk using diskpart clean and attempted a fresh install. Unfortunately, this model (Acer A114-61L with QSIP 7180 SoC) stores the bootloader and firmware on the internal eMMC, not on a separate SPI flash.

The eMMC had around 20+ OEM partitions before the Windows ones. After wiping the GPT, the system no longer boots — just a black screen.

The mainboard only has USB controllers, power circuitry, and an ITE IT5571E-128 EC/KBC. There's no discrete BIOS chip; only the EC has its own NAND flash. The SoC integrates CPU, RAM, storage, Wi-Fi, etc.

It can be switched to EDL mode, where it's detected as Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008, and power draw rises from 22 mA to 26 mA. However, without a compatible firehose loader for QSIP 7180, I can't access the eMMC to restore the partitions.

Yes, there's no display output at all — expected behavior with no bootloader present.
