    Asus Notebook PC K52F

    Hi all,
I have a problem identifying a particular capacitor which was burnt probably due to a defective AC/DC car adapter when plugged into the cigarettelighter.
I can only see a burnt capacitor and a burnt Mosfet on the mainboard. In Boardviewer the capacitor is marked as C4509 but without any info (Pin1ground and Pin2 AC_BAT_SYS), hence the question by which value should I replace it. The Mosfet is a P-Mosfet AP4835GM SO-8 APEC.
The mainboard is a K52F Rev2.2, I found the boardfile on this forum.
Thanks for any help as I am a beginner in this subject.

You can try with a 10uF/25V cpacitor

      Thanks
I took a picture, does it look like a capacitor of that range?

No. Search for J8803 and J8804. Are they showing this part of the board? Post the area of the board view for a review.

you are right, it was my mistake, the component is a current sense resistor
I will replace this one and the burnt Mosfet and reply back

Ok I noticed a burnt mosfet and the current sense resistor looked bad as well. However i could not find a new resistor of this type and decided to test the component.
i was surprised to detect that the resistor was good and thus i only replaced the mosfet. I restarted the laptop and everything worked again as it should.
