    Alienware 13 R3 repair - power issue or bad super-IO?

    Greetings and Salutations!

    I have BAP00 board in front of me, which does not want to turn on. Nothing except for the AC power is connected.

    +3VLP - present
    RTC power - present // no battery connected

    * +3VALW - present
    * +5VALW - present

    * +LAN_IO - 0.00V
    * +3V_PCH - 0.05V
    * +1VALW - 0.00V
    * +1V_PCH_PRIM - 0.00V // same rail as +1VALW

    Note : ON* means that this power plane is ON only with AC power available, otherwise it is OFF

    +1VALW - 47Ohms
    +3V_PCH - MOhm range
    +LAN_IO - 100KOhm range

    I guess that since the power cord is connected and the PCH_PWR_EN signal from the GPIO-107 pin of the KB9022QD is not present, the chip might be faulty. How can I verify my assumption?
    What else could be wrong?

    Thanks in advance and best regards from Germany!

    My bad,
    * +3VALW - present
    * +5VALW - present
    are turned on by the super-IO.

      Nonsens, the super IO is powerd by +3VALW, I do not know what I traced back on the pcb to write what I earlier postet.

        Power adapter is the original for this unit?

        Have you tested with a known good bios for this board? Be sure to backup the original before reflashing.

          Post links to the schematic/boardview, they are already posted in the schematic requests section https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...f-this-section

            I do not have the original adapter, but I have a very similar one from Dell.
            No flash is being powered, except for the UT2, which is connected to the TPS65982 USB-C controller.
