Hi, I'm asking for help identifying the component.. the markings on the smd are totally destroyed and boardview didn't help me much.. I didn't find the schematic ....Thanks!

Post the boardview in the schematic forum and link it here.
Post more pics of this portion of the logic board so we can review the function of this device. Given that there are no inductors nearby, this is not a switching regulator.
It could be a LDO or a load switch.
Update: The posted BV does not appear to match the logic board. Can you confirm it?Last edited by mon2; 04-28-2024, 07:21 AM.

the BV is from a different revision, but the connection appears the same, only the components are oriented differently and spaced +- 1mm differently .. according to the description of the connection, it's an SMB temp sensor .. but I'm not sure .. the laptop works normally without this component .. only the fan runs at full speed (this kind of hints that it's CPU temp) but I don't know any smd 5pin temp with SMB - I'm sorry, there should be one more screen shot .. I didn't attach it ups..
EDIT: I can't find the schematic section.. can you direct me? =(1 Photo

Sure. Here you go:
Schematic Requests ONLY! - Badcaps
Glad you asked before posting it here.
I believe you have done most of the detective work here.
Criteria:
1) package is SOT23-5
2) SMBUS / I2C bus interface (SCL/SDA)
3) Pinout should match yours
4) What is not yet known is which sensor you have (of course) nor the I2C bus address for this sensor. Each SMBUS slave device (like this sensor is or was), has a unique address for the software to ping. Using a low cost bus analyzer you can find out this information because the EC is attempting to ping this slave with retries and then giving up and the fans will run in turbo mode. That is, the absence of this sensor is resulting in the high fan spin.
Will keep searching after a bit of grocery shopping.Last edited by mon2; 04-28-2024, 09:22 AM.
