Activating TPM on HP ZBook Power G7

    Hello everyone,
I'm reaching out for assistance with activating the TPM on my laptop.

    HP ZBook Power G7
    Product Number: 37G74PP
    Quanta XW5 rev D

The device was produced for the Chinese market during 2020, therefore TPM was pre-configured as disabled (hidden even in BIOS).
Here some official info regarding activation (via a service event) https://support.hp.com/us-en/documen...710-5031755-16.

I've attempted the official method, but the service case was closed, stating that "No TPM module has been purchased for that laptop."
Upon checking HP PartSurfer, I observed that it's labeled as a "TPM Permanent Disable Setting."

I'm wondering if it's possible to activate the TPM during DMI initialization by using HP DMI Tool (NbDmiFit) or any other software.
If anyone has experience with a similar situation or knows of alternative methods, your tips, suggestions, or step-by-step instructions would be highly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your help!

If it is fTPM and not discrete TPM, it should be possible to enable it by reflashing a BIOS with clean ME where Intel PTT is enabled (in Platform Protection tab of Intel FITC).

Thank you for your assistance, and sorry for the delayed response.

I'm not entirely certain, but I believe it's an fTPM likely embedded in the Intel i7-10750H.
      According to HWINFO:
      • PTT 'Feature' is currently 'Disabled', but under 'Capabilities,' it is 'Not Capable'.
      • Additionally, under 'Summary' it shows that the TPM chip is 'Not Found'.

Btw, on a friend's Dell, they all appear as capable, enabled, and the TPM 'chip' is found.

I'm curious if there are any alternative solutions available, aside from the option of desoldering, dumping, and reflashing the BIOS chip, as I currently don't have the ability to do that.

Thank you again for your help!
