dell inspiron N 5030

friends,

in my dell inspiron N 5030,

1. in external monitor it is quite ok.
2. in internal display data comes only whenever it wants. after pushing the start button about 10/15 times it comes on internal screen data. once it comes it works as like normal, no problem. but if i try for the next time it will not come on internal lcd.

if anybody can help plz advice.

check the cable wit continuity test and also check connectors. if you have a known good one change the cable.

check in bios which is primarily: ext display or laptop display.try press fn and f4 or fn and another keyboard key with the monitor sign on it.

tried all those but no use. i tried this morning then it came on internal for one time. after that it never came for today.

I had one of these models with a broken screen which when replaced worked fine until it cooked the video chip / bad soldering killed it a few years later. If the laptop screen did not come on but an external monitor worked fine. The problem could be a loose connection on the plug connecting the screen to the motherboard or a broken cable in the wiring loom. Try fully opening the lid and moving it to different positions between open and closed to see if the screen comes on? From what I recall there is also an internal switch to turn the screen off when the lid is closed. Could be worth a quick check.
