When your laptop,notebook not working anymore do not suspect the the motherboard chipset cpu ram hdd all the critical damage . first you need to check is what the laptop need to power on ? the electricity right so first you will need to check is the ac adapter first you will need an ac multimeter get your ac adapter plug it in the socket read the proper voltage all most laptop ac adapter is 19v so the proper voltage is 19 dc v get the ac multimeter set in dc put your red probe at the center +terminal of the adaptopr then your black probe at the outside -terminal see if is it 19v then try to wiggle it. Then if you get the proper voltage 19v not 18 below your adapter is in good condition if not try to find the broken wire and desolder it. if the adaptor good now you can check the motherboard and if you know how to check it
