    no power acer aspire 4715z

    hi to all,

    does anyone have schematic of this?
    laptop has
    no power
    no led lit

    i test the power source from dc jack, power 19v is ok.

    but comes to the first resistor R178, one lead tests 19v but on the other lead has no voltage. i suspect resistor is open. but the thing is, there is no marking value because it is so tiny.

    does anyone know the value of this resistor?
    is it alright to replace it with another resistor taken from old mobo with the same size of the resistor?

      i have successfuly replaced the resistor.
      adapter LED now blinks
      it looks like it has a short...

              hi,

              i'm dead tired looking for the shorted component the whole day later to know that i created the short myself. replacing the resistor made it shorted. i checked the original resistor to be good with higher value. i replaced it with like a jumper resistor that made it shorted.

              good thing i didnt throw the original part. now i place it back and works to its prior state. no power but with 3.3v standby voltage at power switch.
              when power button is pressed, 3.3v goes to low but laptop does not turn on.

              its really hard to troubleshoot without schematic. please, if you have a copy, post it here...

                  hi,

                  i have some tests on AO4433 mosfet.

                  ping 1-3 19v
                  pin 4 19v
                  pin 5-8 6.3v

                  what could be wrong?

                          Hi tia,

                          Did your issue solved? I also encountered the same issue...

                          I have a supply issue on my laptop. My charger just blinking when i plugged the cable to jack input. I have verified with another charger set but problem still persist.Then i tried to disassemble my laptop to find out the root cause. My finding is the blinking only happen when the dc cable connect to the supply circuit(see attachment). When unplugged the connector from the circuit/board my charger not blinking anymore... So i need your team help to clarify this issue. Im looking forward gor someone advice. Thank you very much! -Mr.Haidar-

                                  Acer Aspire a715 - no power, 10ohm resistor keeps blowing on VCC

                                  I got Acer Aspire A715-42G, no 19v going through the DC-IN mosfet. I also checked the components/power rails downstream and no short detected (gpu and cpu rails are at 2-10 ohms)
                                  I have checked that there's no gate voltage on the DC-IN mosfet, so I checked if PUB1 has power.
                                  Turns out there's no 19v going into PUB1 VCC caused by a burnt 10 ohm resistor (PRB12 - 19v stops here).
                                  Replaced the part but it burned when I plugged in the charger - telling me there's something pulling high current.
                                  I checked the resistance of PCB16 and it was fine.

                                  Dear all, I am trying to troubleshoot an Acer Aspire 5 A514-55 that won't power on. I'll describe the symptoms and my findings so far, and I would like to seek guidance and suggestions on possible suspects in terms of cause/component failure. My initial thoughts are battery charger IC and/or ideal diode/MOSFET (that switches between incoming DC and battery power), but I could be totally wrong on this.
