    Dell Inspiron N7110

I bought a Dell Inspiron with a BIOS password (this girl's boyfriend had got mad and locked it on purpose).

I got the BIOS password off!

But my work is only half done, because the HDD also has a password, and after three attempts it gives this screen:

    Error code 10008

    Service tag CT6Z2S1
I haven't tried putting another hard drive inside for 2 reasons.
First, I'm reminded of the IBM BIOSes, which whenever they have an HDD password, that means any drive that I put in there will be locked too! I don't know if Dell BIOSes do this too...
Second, this is a 640GB drive, and it would be a shame to throw away something so valuable.

    Steps I've taken so far:
-Tried atapwd, which doesn't detect the drive
-Tried SeaTools, since it's a Seagate drive, but says "no controllers found"
-Tried seagate, SEAGATE and DELL, dell, as passwords
-Used two different laptops, always connected internally, not thru USB adapter
-Tried using a Dell desktop, which just hangs at a blinking cursor

The workstation I'm using does not have an option for IDE mode (instead of AHCI) so I realiaze I may have to get another compuer just to have Seatools detect the drive.

I'm also wondering if a jumper to slave the drive will help, as that has worked for me with atapwd and older IDE hard drives that were locked by IBM. Problem is I can't finf any of my smaller jumpers.

Does anyone have other suggestions? My goal of course is to zero out the drive, but if none of the usual tools detect it that complicates things.

I can't find an 11 digit serial on the laptop though... Just the 7-digit service tag

        try this ****CT6Z2S1
If that dont work try this CT6Z2S1****

        Also try you error code
        Error code 10008
Making it up to 7 with asterisk one side, then the other side, if that dont work then do the same making it to 11 one side then the other
