    Acer aspire 3620 power adapter blinking

    i have 2 unit of with same kind of problem.any idea where might be shorted?

    What is the resistance between + and gnd on dc jack?

      sorry,forgot to mentioned,the adapter blinking when the adapter plugged in into the laptop so the mainboard problem not the adapter

        I thought so.
        You have to measure the resistane with battery removed and adapter disconnected.

          Not necessarily. A bad startup cap could cause similar issues...

            I agree, usually the LED is powered by the output of the adapter, so it is lit when it is supplying power. A bad AUX PWR cap (for the smps control IC) could be causing too much ripple when the smps goes under a heavy load.

              Also that issue appears when there is shortage in the dc cable or connector.

                        there is a mistake about the model,it is acer aspire 5540 motherboard not acer aspire 3620,the boards look alike that why im confused,5540 support dual core processor but 3620 did not,already find the shorted component c513 somewhere near the the processor
