    Lenovo Legion Y540-17irh-pg0 motherboard charging port leads

    The pads are damaged on this Legion Y540-17irh-pg0. I do not have any warranty left w/ Lenovo. I have taken it to a local shop, and he is trying to figure out where the pads lead to so that he can create a jumper/jump to where those pads lead too and then supply power back to the port. This is the best explanation he can provide me, I am not a soldering/mobo guru. This is NOT a BV request.

    Afew questions: Is what he described possible with this motherboard?
    Does some one have another solution OTHER THAN get another board?

    Maybe take it to someone with better soldering skills might help.

      Send it to Alex at NorthridgeFix. He has a very active Youtube channel. Or at least phone his shop for advice and estimate. Certainly also ask your local cellphone repair shops. Ask them if they are comfortable and experienced in surface mount parts repair.

        He calls these jobs a Hiroshima, he may even make a video out of this one.

        He is good at what he does, but he does charge accordingly. If your problem is something else, he may not fix it since he usually only does the quick money for jam jobs as his queue is so long. He will still charge you a repair attempt fee.

          Well, that is what I was trying with the current person. He has not been making me feel very confident.
