    Hp gaming 17-CD not recognizing M.2 HDD

    Hi
    i have this laptop non recognizing nvme HD.
    Probably i have an hardware problem, but my question is:

    on the MB i can find three eeproms:

    qh128ahig (main bios)
    25q80 (video card bios, i think)
    25q20 (?)

    The third one what is for?

    Is it possible the MB lost some info from bios/ME/SIO?
    TIA

    Hi.

    1) post full silk screen markings from the logic board so we can try to locate a schematic.

    2) the last bios is probably for a EC/KB controller. Fancy name for a complex device based often on the 8051 architecture and handles a mix of peripherals. This includes keyboard decoding, adapter ID detection, thermal sensor, etc.

    3) does the m2 drive work in other systems? Review the caps that will be nearby the m2 connector and are for the PCIe interface. If any are defective or missing, the m2 drive will not be enumerated. Start there.

      [QUOTE=mon2;1193280]Hi.

      1) post full silk screen markings from the logic board so we can try to locate a schematic.

      FPC70-LA H472P rev 1
      This machine suffered a small liquid damage in the area indicated in attached picture (far from M.2 connector, eeproms and chipset).
      So i changed 2 capacitors and 3 resistors oxidated and now laptop runs smootly, if i load OS from USB key.

      2) the last bios is probably for a EC/KB controller. Fancy name for a complex device based often on the 8051 architecture and handles a mix of peripherals. This includes keyboard decoding, adapter ID detection, thermal sensor, etc.

      I thought one chip stores peripherals and lost some informations.

      3) does the m2 drive work in other systems?

      Yes.

      Already checked and all seemed ok but i will recheck .
      Thanks for now

        chip1=main bios
        chip2=vbios
        chip3= thunderbolt or usb C bios.

        Thats my guess depending on the layout
