    Lenovo M700 tiny mx25L2006E Firmware

    Hello,

I've this M700 tiny on which I had tried a modded bios to integrate intel 7th gen support (but it didn't work).
Then I made the terrible decision to revert back the bios with the backup at 10pm several months after, and accidentally erased the wrong cmos.
(The one right next to the cmos battery, which is a Macronix mx25L2006E and only 2MB in capacity.
The machine still boots but bios complaints about cpu fan error while it's blasting at full power (and damn noisy!), it also refuses to update the bios by itself.
Who knows what is the purpose of this CMOS and could anybody try to dump it from a working similar mobo ? Could it be some sort of primary bios CMOS that handles basic features ?

I've seen the motherboard is also used in M900, I would be very interested from a dump from those ones also !

I have exactly the same problem, I installed the original BIOS on that chip, and the fan was accelerated and it threw error 0135 cpu fan failure. Lucky for you, I have the original bin of that chip. The question is: what really is the CMOS where the BIOS should be installed? I tried without soldering the mx25L2006E and the PC continued with the fan at full. So the problem is because the BIOS that was installed is not compatible. Program the file I left you. Then we will have to try the BIOS with another chip. For what reason are you doing it? Sometimes it didn't turn me on, and sometimes it didn't give an image either.

Hello Franco, Thank you so much, I revived flawlessly the m700 thanks to your dump !
The main cmos is the one just on the right on the picture above, the Winbond 26Q128F which has the right size for lenovos's bios binaries.
I had successfully updated the bios before on the Winbond one.
I tried a mod bios with the objective to get intel 7th gen support but it didn't work.
