Hi
I recently acquired a second hand X99A that had been previously working but not switched on for a few years.
When booting it gets stuck with error code b6 - cleanup NVRAM, along with the memory light being on.
I've tried removing the CMOS battery and resetting the clock via the jumpers but only once has it ever done anything different than error code b6.
I've tried stripping the board, using different RAM and PSU. I've pressed the MeemOK button to try have default RAM settings. Only thing I haven't tried is an alternative CPU.
Having looked at the useful repair guides and boardview schematics, I'm finding that the ME voltage on the PU501 chip can be anything from 0.4V to over 4V. I think only 1 of the pins actually had 1.05V.
Is it worth changing the PU501 chip? or has anyone else had any joy with other solutions? Any help would be appreciated.
