    Asus P5E64 WS Evolution

Hello, I need all 11 capacitors, for the 8-phase power design around the CPU socket. they are Polymer, 560uf, 8f.11, 6.3V capacitors.
I damaged one in the top row trying to install a waterblock that was too large. And crushed the one on the left end top row. But system is working fine, the cap is creased were it's crushed but is not leaking. So I thought just replace all instead of just the one. any suggestions would be great, Thanks in advance.

Hello everyone, I tried to edit my first post, but was not allowed? After reading all rules let me start over, Will I need to replace a dented or slightly crushed cap on my motherboard. The system seems to run just fine with dented cap. And if it needs to be replaced how do I order the correct cap?
the exact match is not on your listings, So do I replace all 11 on the 8-phase design around CPU socket or just the dented one?
    The board is Asus P5E64 WS Evolution, I bought new in 2008, with Q9550 EO @ 3.4 GHZ, memory is 4X1GB Corsair Dominator ddr3 1600 @ 1.80V.
I use the board 24/7 as a Folding rig, also have Asus HD7770 2GD5 CrossFired
every thing is slightly overclocked, Power supply is Corsair AX850.
Any information or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

      These will do :

      http://www.digikey.com/product-detai...3-1-ND/2347957
      http://www.digikey.com/product-detai...0-1-ND/2347908

Even though it seems they're 6.3v capacitors on the board, it really shouldn't see more than 2-3v.. so you could use 4v rated capacitors around the cpu area.
In this case, you could go for these:

      http://www.digikey.com/product-detai...5-1-ND/2347903
      http://www.digikey.com/product-detai...062-ND/1662448

ps. and be careful, as asus likes to put the sign on the pcb the other way around (usually the capacitor on boards is represented by a half filled circle with the full section the - on capacitors, on asus and asrock it's the opposite)

I'm surprised it hasn't shorted out.

What are the numbers and letters and markings on top of the cap?

I don't think you have to replace all 11 of them. Only the two damaged ones. Plus, polymer capacitors are a little more pricey than electro's.

          Thanks Guys,
The markings on top of cap are: 8F.11, 560, 6.3V
The Digi-Key part number : 493-4043-1-ND, Nichicon, Looks like it will work.
I was asking about replacing all 11 caps, because they are all looped togather on that 8-phase power design around the socket, and I thought mixing one from a differant mfg. may cause issues?, and the motherboard is 4 years old and I do overclock it, so if I'm pulling board to replace one, may as well replace all 11 I guess it's only $20.00.
And yes I donot know why it did not short, or cause some sort of issues. The system is rock solid, running 24/7 @ 20% overclock.

http://www.digikey.com/product-detai...062-ND/1662448Thank You for the links, I think the 5000 HRs 6.3V Nichicon is what I will order, the others were only 2000 HRs and 4.0V.
Before replacing all caps how can I test if they are OK, Shuld they all read the same on volt meter? sorry this is all new to me. Thanks Vary Much!

              Re: Asus P5E64 WS Evolution

I don't think you need to replace all, just replacing the damaged one should be enough. The capacitors I linked to are probably better than the ones on the board and there shouldn't be a problem with them being mixed.

Te volts rating is just how much voltage the capacitors can handle before they go bad.

The cpu is usually powered with 1.1-1.3v and the memory with 1.5-1.65v so a capacitor that can handle at least these voltages is required. That's why I said even 4v rated capacitors would probably be good.

Sure, go for the 6.3v and 5000h, that's the best option but they're not cheap. I listed several because you might be on a budget, or the price may be better when you buy a pack of 10-15 pieces

To check if they're still good, a voltage meter won't help. You would need to measure capacity but even that won't be foolproof - the capacitor may still measure OK but the damage may have caused the capacitors to overheat due to higher ESR, which you can only measure with a specialized meter.

Wow! this is a great site, You are all vary nice to noobs who are trying to learn or ask silly questions.
I will order the 6.3V ones on Monday, And Thanks for all the help.
as I was worried that finding the correct cap was not going to happen, and spent days scrolling through pages of caps not even knowing what I was looking for. Found it in short time here, and learned something.
