I have two Linksys EG005W gigabit switches, the newer model as you can see on their website here. They've been working 24/7 for years now and all of a sudden one leg of the network started stalling and hesitating. I traced the problem down to one of the EG005W switches.
So I took the box apart, and surprise surprise, I found that the 6 largest caps were ALL bulging. I replaced them and the switch now works properly again. I also drilled some holes above the CPU heat sink, because these little boxes get quite hot. I then opened the other working switch and sure enough the same 6 caps were bulging too, so I preemptively replaced them as well
Now I did this a few months ago, so I don't remember the exact value of these caps, but it's quite legible on their bodies. I just noticed that this hardware wasn't discussed in this forum, so I thought I'd give a heads up to anyone experiencing the same issue.
