Acer A1717b, slow to recognize signal

I have two Acer A1717b monitors at work, both bought at the same time with similar manufacturing dates. When they start up and there is a VGA video signal present they put up a large "Acer" a few times on the screen, and then display whatever is being sent to them. The odd thing is, from the day these were unpacked, one of them has been much slower to respond to the video signal than the other. The slow one will say "Acer" for as long as 10 or 15 seconds, whereas the other one will only do so for a second or two. The slow one is not powering off, the picture, once it finally comes up, looks just like the other. Once the picture is up the slow monitor will happily display video for hours at a time without any kind of glitch. I don't think this behavior has changed much over the years I have used it.

Anybody seen these symptom before - what caused it? Whatever it is, it shipped from the factory like that.

    Thanks.

I forgot about this thread. Recently the slow one was moved to another location and there it was "fast". In its original location it only connected through a very long KVM cable and it was electrically on a different breaker panel than the computers it was attached to. In the new location it is on the same circuit as the computer and connects through a typical 6 ft. VGA cable. I now believe that the "slow to recognize signal" issue resulted either from the long video cable or from a slight electrical fault in the room, for instance, ground being a little different between the two panels.
