Viewsonic VG2030WM - Panel is all white

I took this apart to find some bad solder joints. I fixed these and checked connectors and caps which all seem fine. I was getting random vertical lines but after reseating the cable from the video card to the panel, I got the lines to go away but now it is solid white.

The posts that I have read seem to go in all directions (at least to me) for this symptom. Can you suggest some step by step to help out here?

The panel itself is an AU Optronics M201EW02.

The panel itself is an AU Optronics M201EW02.

Possible causes of a solid white panel are a problem in the logic card or in the panel itself. There is a small smd fuse on the panel's circuit board. If that fuse is blown you will get a solid white panel.

It wasn't easy to get at the circuit board of the panel so I stopped there. Here is a question though: I didn't have my head screwed on straight and ended up touching the heat sink on the power board while it was powered up and was surprised to get a shock. I measured 70V AC on that heat sink...does that make sense?

I checked the only SMD fuse labelled F5 on the circuit board of the panel itself and it shows continuity so I don't think that it is blown.

I have included a close up of the circuit board on the panel with F5 circled in red.

I have also included a shot of the video board for suggestions of where to look next.

Can I assume that the cables are the same for all panels so that I could try this panel with the video and power board from a different LCD?

There are usually two or more heat sinks on the power supply board. One of them will has a potentially lethal voltage on it. Metaphysically, there is some debate over the implications of your surviving. If the optimists are correct, you are very lucky and should buy a lottery ticket. If the pessimists are correct, you used up a large portion of your luck and should be careful getting out of bed.

There are great differences between LCD panels. There is a good chance the panels are interchangeable within the same model number.
