Pipo S1 Android Tablet Display Problem

    Newbie here, first post...

Bought this tablet for $20. Seller say he had it for about a week and dropped it on it's face. The LCD now shows grey/white lines. Hoping it was a loose ribbon cable - no luck.

It has HDMI out so I know everything work, including the touch screen. I updated the firmware but no change.

I've reseated the LCD dispaly cable a number of times. I don't see any obvious damage to the boards or anything.

Any ideas of things to try? Since the HDMI video out works, is it likely a damaged LCD itself? Is there a way to test it?

I can buy a new LCD for $30 but I don't want to sink anymore $ if it may not work. I can live with the $20 - it was fun to work on and it works fine through HDMI.

It is a nice little tablet, ironically the display is the weakest feature.

    Some pics and specs below.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions,
    Scott
