    Gateway FPD2485/LP2407 blank display, Again

First, let me thank everyone for the great advise that is given to everyone.

I originally had the no display back in November and followed the advise in the forums. I replaced all the caps as suggested and my monitor was working fine, until a few days ago. Now it seems I have the same problem again, but checked all the caps and everything looks good.

Where or what should I check next?

First question is what brand/series caps did you use? You must use low-esr caps for proper operation.

Please supply some good focused photos of the entire top and bottom of power supply. Photo of logic board and inverter would also be good. Do not post photos inline.

I used all Panasonic FC series for the caps on the power supply except for the (5) 1000UF 10V, I used FM series.

After closer examination of the power supply I have noticed that R856 100Ω 5% has discolored the board. Also the red wire going from the power supply to the inverter board is discolored and the insulation is missing at the power supply end.

I also check the fuse on the inverter board and it is open.

About 6 of the 13 caps on the processor board are also bad, looks like I'll be replacing all 13 of them.

I'll have to take pictures tomorrow when it's light outside since I can't get good pictures right now, but I think this will keep me busy enough.
