I wanna to talk about a common failure on sony TC-WE/WR series cassete deck.
The symptoms is that one deck dont always start play or is complete dead.Also a lot of clicking noise.Sometimes autoreverse stuck.
The unit on photo is SONY TC-WE405.
The problem is at the trigger motor.Location at the center up on the deck mechanism.
As you can see in the photo is 2 gears a big one and a small one.
Usualy the small one develops a crack as you can see.If you dont have a spare one you can use epoxy glue to fix it and put a grease around him.
