Checking - checking - nope, can't help you. My Crystal ball says it doesn't have enough information. HOWEVER, with a Model number just maybe someone will be able to help.

I think that code means either an output amp problem or power supply problem.

Check the output amps and the PSU. I'm sure something there fried.

The weak link in any high powered amp (high heat) is either the output ICs or components in the power supply.

thank you much, The model is SA-HT 440. I removed all 4 output IC's but it said the same thing F61 so I will be taking the PSU apart and work my way from there. Thanks for the heads up.

There is probably a bad regulator IC in the PSU somewhere.

Also make sure that the fan is working. Manually spin it there should be little to no resistance. If possible supply an external voltage to it if the unit doesn't stay on long enough to power it up.

The cheap sleeve bearings in some fans bind up good. Hopefully Panasonic used their Panaflo line of ball bearing fans here.

hey what do you know? I went over every component that seems needed re-soldering, including replacing the 4 output IC's and and it seems ok now. I'm going to fully re-assemble it and see what happen.

A little searching for SA-HT440 error F61 came up with a couple of hits. One indicated the fan was not working, the other said it meant the speakers were not connected.

now all it is displaying is INIT on the front panel and nothing on the tv screen. both fan s are spinning, audio outputs are hot to the touch after being on for 3 minutes, it takes power on and power commands. no movements of the dvd spindle or tray. maybe I will have to try individual audio outputs.
