Has anyone ever used this device Upgraded 60A Solar Charge Controller, Black MPPT Solar Panel Battery Intel

I am interested in knowing if anyone has used this device before and if so what did you think about it quality and how easy is it to use

    9 PC LCD Monitor
    6 LCD Flat Screen TV
30 Desk Top Switching Power Supply
10 Battery Charger Switching Power Supply for Power Tool
6 18v Lithium Battery Power Boards for Tool Battery Packs
1 XBox 360 Switching Power Supply and M Board
    25 Servo Drives 220/460 3 Phase
6 De-soldering Station Switching Power Supply 1 Power Supply
    1 Dell Mother Board
    15 Computer Power Supply
1 HP Printer Supply & Control Board * lighting finished it *

These two repairs where found with a ESR meter...> Temp at 50*F then at 90*F the ESR reading more than 10%
1 Over Head Crane Current Sensing Board ( VFD Failure Five Years Later )
2 Hem Saw Computer Stack Board
All of these had CAPs POOF
All of the mosfet that are taken out by bad caps

I don't believe this is a genuine MPPT regulator. A genuine MPPT controller would show the voltage and current produced by the solar panel as well as the voltage and current at the battery.

BTW, you can truncate eBay's tracking garbage.

PREVIOUS model was shit - crappy caps, garbage heatsinking for the mosfets and quirky software.

"Upgraded" must come with a lucky rabbit foot, no idea what they might have improved. That eBay listing is overpriced, they are reselling from china.

The example in that review is a PWM controller, not MPPT.

Thanks for the info I appreciate it I had a feeling that this was a to good want a be item and not worth a crap I am looking to buy an inexpensive one but I want a decent low amperage unit for the solar panels that I have 60 amp would be nice for what I want to do with it

The person who did this review was very thorough about the process he used to test these units
What I basically got out of this review was that the build quality is fair at best and uses of using used parts in a new product is to me is a questionable practice at best but this is one case you get what you are paying unfortunately you are not told what you are actually getting for what you are paid for this device

Thank you for sharing this review this helps me a lot

This brings me to this question about what is a good basis “ MPPT Controller ” for a descent quality and for a descent price level

I would want something that could easily do 30 amps without having any issues the highest amperage that I would be using is less than 60 amps right now I only have two identical solar panels that I want to use for this project

I want to do two things one is to get educated on this subject and do a proof of concept for something that I have been going back and forth about weather or not it is feasible to do or not or just maybe use something like this instead of a MPPT Controller

1500W 50A Adjustable Step Down Module Stabilized Power Supply 25-90V to 2.5-60V

Can be found here on eBay

              https://www.ebay.com/itm/225906237466

Let me know if this is a good choice or not

I am wanting to build an adjustable solar battery charger for my shed which is my workshop

The main goal is to have a very stable solar power supply system that I can rely on I know that it mostly depends on how much sun you have and what time of day it is I completely understand this limitation it is what it is and can not control this aspect of parameters but I can control everything else by the choices that I make with how I control the voltage and current going to the battery cells but I just need a very stable power supply that is controllable

I already have the battery charger controller which is really a battery testing machine modified to do only charging function only which can be hooked to my computer so I can keep track of the battery condition and the charging curve and how efficient the system setup really is

The battery testing machine uses a 24 volt power supply so the power supply output is going to be set for something like 12.00 to 24 volts because the battery testing machine controller has a 12 volt regulator that supplies the power for the controller

So if I an only doing 4.2 volt battery cells I can set it to 12 volts and if I am doing more than 2 battery cells then I can adjust the voltage accordingly to the amount of battery cells that I going to use but the highest battery voltage can only be to 24 volts but it really is one battery cell less for best results which in reality is a 20 volt battery pack

One note about this battery testing machine is that it says that it can do 30 volts but only in the discharge charge mode but I am not really sure if that is the case or not in reality it probably more like 24 volt battery pack and that is it
