Back up the original bios and flash it, you never know for 100% that it wil work, but you have nothing to lose.

ok, can i solder the 8 wires directly to the chip legs and keep the chip on the mobo ?
          instead of desoldering it ?

          Thanks
Ps: this is my first ever attempt using the programmer

Ok, i think that i was able to extract the rom file, but if i compare the saved file from the bios and the hp rom file, they don't match at all.

@looofy, no liquid on mobo, but the pc was stored on humid garage for a year.

Maybe you have to ask here on the forum who can extract it for you, there s a few guys here on this forum that are good in that.

It has to be the same size with the original one.

Both are 1024Kb, but they are different, like you can see on the photo posted before.

You can try it, but i think the extracting is not good, maybe you can ask who can do that for you.

                              lift up that KBC.
clean the contacts and resolder it back.

100% sure that some contacts are gone. in that case you have to rewire all of them.

done a hp 15 series last week. same problem Liquid and no power. had to solder 5 wires to remake the trace

Agree that some legs don't look good!
this is a all in one desktop pc, and to put liquid inside you need to dive into the liquid, and this is not a easy task

I will try first the bios fix, if not work I will replace this chip.

pasette, you don't need to replace the bios chip. if you really wanted to try flashing that bios, you can. put it back afterwards and test. if nothing or worse happens, re flash it the original file. put it back on and try cleaning up SIO chip and put good flux on it and re flow. note, do not dare to remove yet because its not an easy task to put it back on. but i maybe wrong (this depends on your skill)

                                  good luck

humidity for long time = direct liquid

                                    just start from the KBC
