    TrendNet TEG-S80g Bad Power Supply

    Hello,
I was wondering if anyone out there has worked on TEG-S80g Gigabit 8-port Ethernet switch. The switch stopped working, no light or activity. Upon opening it up, it was no surprise that a regulator chip was blown. I'm trying to identify that chip, or find a replacement for it.

Chip is U1 as you can see from photo. It's marked with EGAx and I can't read that last letter.

Anyone know what that is? HW revision is V2.1R
    Thank you

    Maybe this Richtek? http://www.s-manuals.com/smd/eg

Something else may be bad too if it blew.

The regulator in the TEG-S80g switch is a GMT G5626 which is an obsolete part. The replacement is a G5692P11U which has a higher input voltage spec of 6 volts max. It is available from a few ebay sellers.
IC will blow if you connect a 12 volt supply!
