Panasonic sc boards TC-50GT30 & another Pan 50"

Hey guys I have a couple panasonic plasma TV's with bad sc boards. I have replaced the IGBT's on both boards(the ones that were shorted). When I power them back up they both end up shorting another IGBT on the board.
I get using fets/igbt's to power up a transformer but I don't understand the theory behind what these "switches" are doing?
Maybe then it would be easier for me to figure out the issue I am having.

What did you use to replace the orig. igbts with, and where did you get them.
There are a shitload of fake parts being sold on ebay.
There are quite a few threads about this model and its known problems such as Q660/Q661/ ics and their drivers. DO ALOT OF RESEARCH! Read every thing about Panasonic plasmas posted. You may have a bad buffer board, read how to check them and isolate them from the sc board. Read up on the SC50.

I did use IGBT's that had a higher voltage rating....otherwise they were very comparable....
        Thanks for the links!
