I picked up a sony kdl-52w3000 lcd and it had the panel failure everyone had talked about.
What I have found on mine is the problem is where the thin chip is bonded to the panel ribbon cable and not where the ribbon meets the pc board.
I am going to try to cut strips of aluminum to put under the chip then put the foam tape ontop of the ribbon to hold the chip against the ribbon.
When I press the chip to the ribbon the picture corrects itself.
These chips also get very hot and cool off when I put the aluminum under them.
I wont be selling this tv (another family mancave donation).
Picture is not that great. No match for my pioneer plasma.
