    Welcome capman2010.

    Have you checked your caps?

Can you post pix of your inverter board?

Same exact board as Allnighters post# 31. Even the burn patterns and smoked c11 were the same. I replaced c11 but it did not work. It actually started to smoke again.

I have not replaced c1 and c7 or checked the farad for these yet. All the smaller components I am not going to bother with.

I read a post about another type of backlight inverter which stated that because of the heat generated, it caused some of the other caps closer to the source to dry out and in turn caused an overcurrent in the circuit. I don't know if this is a similar problem or not.

Re: LCD Monitor inverter gets way too hot

I have the same problem with Dell u2410,it works for hours, but on hot re-boot through the power button it does not start ,the button do not light up ,nothing at all, if I unplug the power cord fore about 5-10 minutes then press the power button it goes on, and every thing is ok. I looked at the caps it seems ok no changes in shape, or leaks ,or any color changes.
        pleas help.
        Thank you
