    Lenovo Yoga 500-14IHW

    Good morning all,

First, sorry for my English, I am French !!

I unfortunately tinkered with the power supply of my LENOVO YOGA 500 laptop, and I burned out a component on my motherboard.
This follows an inversion of polarity.

I'm looking to find out what this component is? See picture.

    Capacitor?
    Diode?

    Thanks for your help

        Re: Lenovo Yoga 500-14IHW

behind is stepdown circuit that makes low voltage from that 19V main power line. on that line is more capacitors. voltage input to this stepdown circuit can be various so it is not nessesary to have smoothed voltage.

u can replace that capacitor with literrally any capacitorof that size

The easiest solution is to remove it.
Finding a capacitor of this size is not easy !!

          I will try.

i will give you a feedback.

          Many Thanks

            Hello,
            I give you a feedback.
I remove the damage capacitor and shunted.

            But something is not good.
The AC / DC adapter output voltage without connection is approximately 20V.
When I plug it into the PC, I can control a voltage of 1.5 - 2V.
I don't think this is correct.

Why this drop in electrical voltage?
Malfunction of AC / DC adapter or motherboard problem?

No LED is on and no PC start-up

            Thanks for your help.

u have other short on that main line. check all mosfets for short and than inject voltage to main line to find burning component
