Ok. Excuse the noobish lingo, as I mentioned earlier am complete novice.
So I removed the back off the TV and pulled the connecting cables out and put them back in. No signs of oxidation or dust or anything visibly in or around the connectors. The ones from the t-con to the display I didn't remove as they looked more fiddly and flimsy and I didn't want to break them. I did give them a bit of a push in to make sure they were sitting in properly and hadn't wriggled loose.
Plugged the TV back in and...

That's good to know, I wasn't aware that was the case. I did note them down and was very conservative. I changed the value then brought it back to what it was. The service reset was really me thinking that anything I changed would go back to default values. Initially when I was reading about it people made the suggestion that the red channel value may be off. But nothing came close to resolving it. How it is represented in the first image is how it presented right at the beginning without making any changes.

Hi there, hoping you good people can help me figure out if I can revive my set. Colours are very red on particular channels, mostly noticeable in the skin tones. There are also horizontal ghost lines extending across the screen if there is any sort of graphics/words displayed. Have attached some images to show.
Set was performing really well till a lighning storm (according to the wife who watches much more TV than I do). Not sure if coincidental or just her trying to join the dots.
Initially I went into the service menu and was fiddling with the channels but nothing...

Last resort to try and fix my tv before biting the bullet and having to throw it away. Such a waste when I can't find anyone else to fix it locally and the best option is to buy a new one. Disappointing world we live in. But I was glad to see these forums have some answers. Here's hoping I can get some help.
