On Saturday a friend asked to me to install WinXP on his notebook because he was so tired with Vista HB.

I become crazy because only Ethernet driver, downloaded from Compaq site, worked properly, I was not able to install all other devices.
I searched in internet and found the solution on this forum .
This post helped me to install the modem driver.
I post it here because I think it can be useful for someone else.

This was the first time I worked on a Compaq PC and I have to say their site/support is very poor, I could not believe that even downloading the official driver for WinXP was impossible to install them.

I have a constantly expanding library of drivers. I go to DP first, then search when I can't find what I need in DP. I do a *lot* of driver installs, and most of the sites don't give you squat for driver support. Dell is the exception for me. I get almost everything I need for Dell machines from their site.
