Hello, I got this notebook who has the typical issue of broken solder connections in the GPU.
I want to replace the motherboard, if possible for the version without dedicated graphics.
The original part number is 616244-001 (with 1Gb HD5450) and here is impossible to source, but I can get the 608204-001 with integrated graphics.
I attached the relevant part number list from the service manual that list both as possible parts of the dm4 series.
Is possible to replace one for another as a drop in replacement? Found low res pictures of both and they appear to have the same connectors; only the heat sink is different but compatible. Still, I don't know is there are some 'gotcha' that I not accounted for.
Opinions?
