Possible Damage on Used GTX 1080 Ti – Is It a Red Flag?

I'm planning to buy a used MSI GeForce GTX 1080 Ti.
The seller has provided photos, which I've attached to this post. One of them shows some visible damage — I'd appreciate your opinion on how serious it might be.

What other potential issues should I look out for with this card?
What are the key things I should check before finalizing the purchase?
Also, how can I best protect myself from being scammed?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

    🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩

    That's an MSI AMD R9 390 (or R9 390X)
    https://www.msi.com/Graphics-Card/R9...y#lg=1&slide=3

Don't waste your money on it, no new driver support, performance similar to RX480/580

Are you really looking at MSI cards for an specific reason?

I'm looking for a graphics card with performance similar to the MSI GeForce GTX 1080 Ti. I'm open to any brand or model.

        UPD
What led you to that conclusion?

I mean, you were looking specifically for MSi brand at the beginning, instead of other brands
Example: Asus 1080 Ti, Gigabyte 1080 Ti, EVGA 1080 Ti, Zotac 1080 Ti , ...

All are the same in the end if they use the same GPU core (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti), the only difference is looks and the heatsink design

I suggest finding a newer card, like an used RTX 3070 or RTX 3080, depending on budget, as some newer games require ray tracing support to even start

Or an RTX 2070 or RTX 2070 Super if you're looking for similar performance to a 1080 Ti, You may find those cheaper

On AMD cards, you may look at the RX 6700 XT, or RX 6800, those are faster than the 1080 Ti

Most of the NVIDIA cards have "GEFORCE GTX" or "GEFORCE RTX" branding on the side, like this example: (ASUS RTX 3050)

On AMD cards you may see the "RADEON" branding, or nothing at all, that's why I guessed it was an AMD card like last time

For buying an used GPU, I suggest testing the card in person, make sure seller shows working card on a test PC at their home (or shop) running some benchmarks and you can check for yourself, I wouldn't trust an online sale
