Hey folks, new user here.
I have an old IBM ThinkCentre S51 SFF Workstation, Pentium 4, etc. etc.
Anyway, I have heard that IBM knew about bulging capacitors during that model year and had an updated revision System board, so I'm wondering if my issue is related to bad caps.
In the BIOS and Diagnostics, it runs fine. If I'm in the OS (Windows XP), it'll run between 10 - 15 minutes before the screen blanks, I have no mouse or keyboard, and the system fans will slowly ramp up in speed until they are on full. If the system has been on for a while, it will sometimes happen after 5 minutes.
A replacement board will run about $200, but if it's just caps, then I'd like to go that route first.
Thanks in advance!
Nick
