Laptop GPU Chip info.

I got bad chip on my Quadro FX3700M, it's G92-985-A2. I was wondering how to find latest revision of this chip if someone can tell me, because I heard that a lot of those G92-985-A2 chips are faulty for some reason and I was planning to buy new one but this time latest revision so that I can avoid problems assuming they fixed it in that latest revision.

Forgot to mention that gpu is on my laptop HP 8730w.

On the chip there is a date of manufacture, but it is very difficult to find a truly new chip, most chips are Remarked or preserved in poor condition.
In addition , a new chip is more expensive than the entire card

specifying that all tests do not provide a definite answer,
If the chip is not soldered you can measure the VCC inputs respect to ground or if the pads are hard to find, measure whether the capacitors are shorted.
Do not take measurements with diode test but in ohms.
If the chip is welded, then a possible short can come from the power lines that must be disconnected.
However that is the case where the GPU chip is seriously damaged, and probably the motherboard not turn on, if there are internal connections that are disconnected randomly , the only way to test the chip is to use a test socket with a dedicated motherboard.

In recent years, I tried to buy from different vendors.
There are chips that are easily damaged than others, especially if are handled many times, for example , I never buy an 216-0752001. I always prefer to take the chip from a motherboard that has other problems.
For the reason that I know where it comes from and I prefer to do a reballing with the "tin lead" balls and not lead free. This is Because it is easier to solder (without having to use a very professional soldering station) and free "pad ball pad" is stronger.
All chips that I purchase are converted to lead-tin.

Right. Guy told me that used ones are with leaded solder balls, and new one are with non leaded. Leaded balls are better.

I Didn't read condition status my bad. I found on .com that same "new" one. Hope that it is really new.

Problem solved, new chip bought, I mean not new but used and working from other chinese from aliexpress that I remember buying before stuff and it was always working and every item was in good condition so I bought from him, and it was much less than from seller suggested on ebay up in the post. Quadro graphic card is working now fully test for few days now.
