Solder not reflowing - what am I doing wrong?
    by sircastor
I'm trying to fix a broken MacBook Air, and got a parts board to salvage components from. Following the suggestions of many folks here, I wanted to get in a little practice of using my hot air station (A Quick 957DW+) on the parts board so I know what kind of behavior to expect.

For the life of me, I can't get anything done with this thing. I have tried multiple temperatures (from 210-425c), different air speeds, preheating the board (with the hot air, just warming it all around). I have applied what feels like excessive amounts of flux (Amtech V2-TF-559) and the solder on these components...

    Vizio M60-C3 black screen
    by paqman
So our beloved M60-C3 up and died the other day. I was not there, my wife mentioned that it came on, displayed the logo, then showed the right half of the screen white and fuzzy, with the left half of the screen ok. However when I got around to looking at it, the screen would not come on at all. The indicator LED will come on, then dim a bit. After a while, the LED might blink a bunch of times. I can't get it to be consistent to do that.

So I've got the back off and am checking voltages. The capacitors on the power supply board visually check out. No bulges or anything. They all show...

    Dell latitude 3190 2-in-1 LA-F461P boardview & schematics
    by IlkerD75
    Hello fellow enthusiasts,

I'm currently working on a laptop motherboard repair and could really use some assistance. Specifically, I'm in need of the boardview for the Dell Latitude 3190 2-in-1, LA-F461P. It would be immensely helpful in diagnosing and troubleshooting the issues I'm encountering. If anyone has access to or can point me in the right direction to obtain a boardview for de Latitude 3190, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks in advance for any help or guidance you can provide!

    Best regards,

    macbook A1707 Board (820-00928) (Board Schematic 820-00281) U3905 BGA Corroded pin 21
    by abajor
I'm trying to get this A1707 macbook working. There was some liquid damage under U3905 and corrosion around the Tantalum capacitors C3502 C3504.
Removing the U3905 (PN66VEU3-A101D004) shows that the pad is somewhat damaged. I'm not reading continuity between pin 21 and the filter cap C3919.

Researching that part shows that its an NFC chip, which makes me go huhhh? And Why??? Why does a macbook even have and NFC chip, and if I just leave it out will it cause issues?

If I can get away with just replacing the tantalum caps and ignoring the NFC chip that would be...

I going to build one of these DIY projects for removing battery tabbing I saw this YouTube video last night and got inspired to make one for myself to make this process easier to do and keep damage to batteries to a minimum and keep stress level down as well

Macbook Air A1466 No light on charger
    by sircastor
    Hi everyone,

I have a MacBook Air 2015 (820-00165-02) that had some liquid damage. It was working for a while only on Adapter power, but that stopped working. Thunderbolt (external display) did not work. There was a bit of corrosion on the board, and I've cleaned that up. The adapter light does not turn on when I plug it in.

    PP3v42_G3H: 3.42V
    PPBUS_G3H: 0V
    PPDCIN_G3H: 16.4V
    PPDCIN_G3H_INRUSH: 0V

A lot of this is new to me, but following the schematic, I think that Q7180 is not producing the PPDCIN_G3H_INRUSH voltage, which in turn drives...

    43PUS6401/12 PHILIPS 715G7350-P01-000-002S
    by 90Ninety
    So I stupidly volunteered to fix a friend's TV, a Phillips 43PUS6401/12

I have previously fixed TV's before , even replacing cathode rays , not a fun task .. Typically the advent of subpar capacitors inside the early Samsung Flatscreens is the reason I originally registered here

However I digress , the Phillps TV was not switching on , no standby light nothing... So rightly or wrongly ( probably wrong ) I assumed the power board was dead , or a faulty power board .. Upon first inspection, I got the MultiBeeper on it , since I am aware of Ohms law , I checked the regular...

Need help with figuring out a capacitor on Quadro 5000M from Dell M6500
    by remdale
I have a rear video card Nvidia Quadro 5000M, but I broke a small SMD 0402 capacitor on the front side of the card. It's the 2nd capacitor just down the U1 inscription in the left bottom corner of the card. Would anyone having this card please help me measure the capacitance of it? It would require a bit of soldering.
To those interested in this card: I'm working on replicating it, so you might become interested in buying it from me after I finish. I'm also planning on changing its shape to fit some other laptops.

Samsung QE55Q60TAUXXU - flashing backlight and flashing standy light--no image

    Hello Community!

Promblem Signs: Backlight on 1 sec off 7sec > repeat && Red standby light: 1blink, off 3 sec, 2 blinks, off 5 secs, 2 blinks, off 3 sec, restart cycle

13V present on powerboard output. Backlight continues flashing after removing cables to pannel one at a time and even with both disconnected. NOTE: backlight STOPs flashing and remains on when connector between powerboard and mainboard (note Tcon built in) is disconnected.

Tried inserting firmware on USB and left it in for a few hours, but...

    Philips 40PFT4009/12 bootloop (TPN149E)
    by RethoricalCheese
Started after unplugging power cable when TV was turned on. (remote control was lost and user didn't know where power button is located)
So my first thought is firmware corruption.

Tried autorun.upg and upgrade_loader.pkg on 16GB FAT32 MBR formatted USB stick but neither did anything. Maybe I just don't understand how to start them.
When USB inserted and TV plugged in, it just starts up and continues bootlooping. When USB plugged in and I hold down power button when plugging TV in, it just doesn't do anything.

Attached boot dump (at the end it just restarts...

    Hello folks,

I hope you are doing well.

I have had a macbook Air, from 2013 with 8GB 1.7GH one day (almost 1 year ago) it had failed, so you know as a human being, I had to try to fix it, but then i caused a lot of more trouble by shorting PPDCIN_G3H with PP5V_S4RS3 by mistake, which I then fixed to a good extent (macboook was powering up three times then normal boot, into internet recovery (which was not working) but booting into ubuntu via a usb stick went halfway, etc... so after so much time spent on this logic board replacing stuff to get it to that working state,...
