Hello all,
First time posting, so please be gentle 😂
HP Elitebook 850 G2 Win 10 with Intel HD Graphics 5500.
Screen dead, but booting.
I connected it to an external monitor via both VGA & Display Port outputs and external monitor works fine, nothing with F4 or detecting another screen in settings.
Got a replacement panel, still dead & still displayed to external screen as before.
Removed CMOS & left it. CMOS reconnected, all as before, no panel, external monitor works.
Got replacement cable...

by groomitHi,
Bought a defect console eager to repair.
Seller was not very communicative.
Upon arrival I noticed UART Pads had been soldered previously.
Read it out and got:
80810001 General power failure (periphery, GDDR6, APU, data line shorted)
F*CK. Had That before with a chipped APU. But this APU die looked good. However I found flux around it - previously reflowed?
Boot sequence is quite right 325 mA dropping to 9 mA.
Using the thermal camera I can see the SSD controller and South bridge getting warm.
But APU and RAM stay cool (=not...12-09-2024, 04:06 PM -
by DezeazHi,
I have a Samsung UE55F9000STXXU which has started switching to standby after approx 1 minute of being switched on.
None of the caps appear to be bulging, and I've tested the 4 caps removed in the images attached and they appear fine. Anyone with experience with this particular board can point me in the right direction?
Thanks

by my dodgeHello
I was looking for a schematic or board view but unfortunately I didn't find anything.
By connecting the drain and source of pq58, the device turns on and works perfectly, but the battery doesn't charge, and I don't know the path of the circuit to the MOSFET.
Is the problem with the adapter? Or is there a problem with the MOSFET activation circuit?
Please guide me.
Thank you.Today, 08:37 AM -
by brightest_zHi All - I'm in the midst or reprogramming the bios on my gen1 Surface Laptop Studio and I accidentally blew away 2 resistors nearby the bios. I don't have another board to measure values of the missing resistors and schematics aren't available, bbut the bios is a 6x5mm Winbond WSON8, W25R256JWPQ model. The traces are conductive to Pins 3 and 7 (IO2 & IO3 respectively) so I have reason to believe they are 10k pull up resistors since IO2&3 pins are used for Quad SPI instructions.
Does anyone with more knowledge, and experience than I, know if this is the case?

by x_orange90_xI just got this today and it has the infamous 6 blink code. I've read it's quite possibly bad backlights, and I intend to check them soon. However, I was just curious if the Sony logo should it's shouldn't be appearing briefly between powering on and the light starts flashing. I've read at least one other person had the logo flash quickly, but mine does not show anything at all, not even a flicker. The green light comes on and after about 5 seconds the red light flashes. So I'd expect in this 5 seconds to see the logo. This leads me to believe it could be a power supply issue.
