Samsung QLED GQ50Q67TGU turns on and off
by Batata
Hello everybody,

my TV has a problem. It keeps turning on and off. The speakers are still working, and I hooked up the TV to my PC, and it recognizes it as a Samsung device. I am able to get a stable backlight when I disconnect the cable(I believe it is called the LVDS cable) that connects the left lower board (which is connected to the "main board") and the right lower board. I have tried a taping method I saw on YouTube, where the CLK cables are taped off. In fact, I proceeded to figure out which pin I have to tape off in order to get a stable backlight. It doesn't matter...

LED light issue
by ntec
Hi, I'm trying to fix my buddies rechargeable led work light made by olight and the model is odiance. For some reason now after a couple years of no issue, when powered off now, the led is faintly lit on 3 of the orange rows but as you can see from the first pic that's not where the leds are. The part that is faintly lit is beside the leds? Anyone know how that is possible? Is there small voltage still coming in somehow? The third pic is with the cover off....

Ancel BA-101 automotive battery tester reads low on flooded batteries
by CapLeaker
I’ve got this Ancel BA-101 battery tester for a few years now and discovered an issue testing flooded car batteries. The damn thing reads always low compared to other battery testers. I mean low in the tune of 25 to 30%! AGM’s read comparable within margin of error. I wonder if all these have the same problem or mine is defective somehow?

Lenovo Ideapad Gaming - Board NM-C87(1) - Discrete to UMA?
by BMCappelletti
Hi everyone.
I have here a Lenovo laptop, model Ideapad Gaming. It works, but dedicated Nvidia GTX 1650 is not detected. Also, the computer turns on with fan on full speed and I receive errors when trying to install Windows.
On troubleshooting, the conclusion was the GPU was gone.
Is there any way I can completely disable the dedicated GPU and use only the Intel one? Maybe on doing that the other issues will go away, too. Fingers crossed.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanx....

What is this PSW1 part on a circuit board? Trying to fix a Canopus ADVC-300 DV/VHS Converter
by gizmo1990
I'm trying to fix this Canopus converter so that I can convert lots of old VHS cassettes. The problem is that it turns on for a split (and I mean split!) second, the fan jerks and then.. nothing. I've checked the power brick works. I've opened up the converter itself and been testing for shorts.

Failure Symptom

No Display. Just random blocks of grouped vertical red lines.
Disconnect right 1/2 panel (rear view), left 1/2 displays properly

Masking T-Con Signal Diagnostic

Reduced masking to 5 signals on right 1/2 panel and get perfect picture

Pins are

1 GND
2 VGHD
3 XON
4 VSSQ
5 LC2
6 LC1

VGHD and LC1 masking is absolutely necessary to get working panel. Didn't unmask 3-5 individually.

by k370
Hi,

I have something I've never seen before.

I've received an Asus laptop that had a short in the DC input. I found that the second MOSFET in the DC input line was heating up, so I replaced it, and now the laptop works. Great, isn't it?

Now, for the odd part: the mosfet replaced wasn't measuring as short or having low impedance on the board either before or after I replaced it. It was an "A5 GND" mosfet, which I swapped for something I had in stock—some N-type 30V MOSFET.

Now the laptop works fine, but when it restarts,...
