Yep, no case fans and it was scorching. Dunno how ignorant people generally were of cooling back then, but no case fans at all and a power supply with Fuhjyyu caps to boot - anything that can go wrong, will go wrong.

Actually, the drive probably outlasted almost everything else in that computer, which considering the extreme heat, is quite commendable.
