🧵 [Help] Acer Aspire 5 A517-52G – Onboard RAM Removed, BIOS Mod Done, Battery Not Charging


Hi everyone,

I have an Acer Aspire 5 A517-52G-53NB laptop.

The onboard (soldered) RAM was faulty, so I physically removed the chip.
I also successfully modified the BIOS using the SPD Removal Tool – the laptop now boots fine and works with an 8 GB DDR4 SO-DIMM installed.

• BIOS mod is done (SPD removed)
• Laptop boots to Windows normally
• RAM is detected and stable
