Hello everyone i have hp proobook 6470b with locked bios i read out with programmer the bios save old to usbhdd and put new bios from hp original page. and my laptop show errors with mac adress and serials missing. how use this things from old bios.bin file and put to new bios.bin. I do same then i flash asus dekstop pc they have the program called FD44Editor from old bin take mac and serials and put to new bios file. but hp computers i cant find some simmilar program. password remowers not working for my bios i tryit.

on the website for this laptop model is only the update... to have a bios of the correct length, you must cut from the original bios what is missing and add over the update, of course the update must be cut, after which you clean the me region......

Thanks, this worked for me. It was correct size and the before bricked laptop works again.

The file 68ICE.BIN from HP's website is only 5242880 bytes and the chip is 16 megabytes so flashrom didn't write it. Maybe there are instructions how to modify it but I could not find them yet. I only tried the "truncate -s 16M" command which didn't work....

Many thanks for this amazing tool. Worked great on my admin PW locked HP Probook 6470b. Can also confirm this tool only removes PW - all other data is retained (DMI etc).

i have hp probook 6470b , its working no problem but when i shut it down the fan still working and never stop .
i burned new bios but the problem are the same .. any ideas ?

Is the fan the original?

Has this logic board been repaired by another shop?

Fan speed will be defined by a PWM signal (on / off pulse stream). If the pwm is fixed to a static voltage value, the fan will continue to run, non-stop.

When running, can you check the temp gauges? Are the sensors reporting high temps on the logic board?

If the sensors report high heat, the fan will run.

A Lenovo ThinkPad R61. The laptop itself is fairly unremarkable aside from being in excellent condition for its age, however it had the highest hour laptop HDD I've ever seen, a 250GB Western Digital Scorpio Black with 49,355 hours on it (it certainly isn't in prefect condition with quite a few reallocated sectors, but it is still functional, though I immediately swapped it with a 120GB SSD).

GPU: Integrated Intel 965 Express
