Re: Vizio M50-C1/M65-C1 Service menu
ok so i realize this post is quite old but i have solution to this Vizio board swap problem and the eeprom being overwritten when the TV is turned off and back on again.
I had the same issue with a M50-C1
I didn't want to purchase an exact replacement because at the time i didn't know if the TV had other issues or not.
I did however have a D50-D1 Main board.. when i installed it as-is the screen was stretched out...so i copied the code from the M50 to the D50 Main board and then used my programmer to bit protect the code... -
Re: Vizio service manuals
M43-C1 has bad BGA connections on the mainboard. Search M43-C1 or M65-C1 and you will find many threads....Leave a comment:

Vizio M65-C1 won't power on
I have a Vizio M65-C1 that won't power on. I've purchased a replacement power supply and main board but the TV exhibits the same behavior. I've purchased a multimeter, I'm just not sure where to start.
I've attached pictures of the boards, courtesy of shopjimmy. Watching some YouTube videos to test the power supply, I wanted to test the standby power voltage. I couldn't find any pins labeled as standby, so I'm assuming it's pins 1 and 2 on the power supply. They are labeled 5V/3.5V.
The only indication that I have power is a constant flashing blue/purple LED401... -
Re: Vizio M65-C1 won't power on
Well if the resistor and or diode are ok on the board you did not fix, then it's a different issue no doubt.Leave a comment:

Re: Vizio M65-C1 won't power on
The replacement power supply did not fix my problem, and I can't explain that. When I saw the YouTube video with the exact same symptoms I figured I would give it a shot and it worked in my scenario. The set is still running great to this day....Leave a comment:

ANOTHER Vizio M65-C1 No picture Issue
What happened:
I was watching YoutubeTV on a ROKU streaming device when the screen froze with all sorts of garbled colors, shapes, half legible words, etc. The audio was still streaming. I grabbed the TV remote and turned the TV off. Waited a minute or so and powered back on, no picture. I am not sure about sound as I couldn't navigate anything.
What I've done:
Performed the flashlight test. I don't see anything.
Measured voltages on the power supply:
CN9101 -__________OFF____ON
PIN 1 - +5V/+3.5V__5.1V____5.2
PIN 3 - +12V... -
Re: ANOTHER Vizio M65-C1 No picture Issue
The seller insisted he tested it personally and asked for pics of my board to confirm I bought the right one. I also sent him pictures of the voltage in standby and powered up. He refunded me immediately.Leave a comment:

Re: ANOTHER Vizio M65-C1 No picture Issue
I purchased a guaranteed working and tested board with the same failure previously. If sellers takes returns, then easy for an unscrupulous buyer to return a bad board and it gets resold.Leave a comment:

OK, that is what I thought. Thank you for the help and confirmation!Leave a comment:

Re: ANOTHER Vizio M65-C1 No picture Issue
Your replacement board is bad as well. ON/OFF comes directly from the processor.
One good thing about buying boards from ebay is the money back guarantee.

Re: Vizio M65-C1 won't power on
Question for the OP:
How did the youtube steps work but not replacing the power supply? Did you fix the power supply with the newer main board or your original?
I ask because I have the same set that turns on, but only to display the Vizio logo for a few seconds. The backlights stay on inside the set for about 30 seconds then off for 7 and it goes like that over and over. It used to startup after doing this for 30-40 minutes but now won't.
I found the same video and opened my set. My issues didn't seem to follow...Leave a comment:

flash W25X4... -
Re: Vizio M65-C1 no picture
okay, so removing the W25X40CL from circuit allows for the screen to display picture, but also affects the picture quality.
My theory is that the IC flash is detecting a fault on one of the address boards then and is preventing the screen from powering on. With it disconnected, it's allowing everything to turn on and you have essentially turned off the alarm, but the problem is still there. At least that's the theory. Now when it comes to panel failures, the usual suspects are diodes and caps being shorted.
Have you checked your address...Leave a comment:
