Re: Samsung PN50C490B3DXZA power issue
So if I unplug the X-main but leave the Y-main plugged in clicks...if I unplug the Y-main (vs,va etc plug) I get the start up. My voltages on start up are correct 206v on the vs.
I am back to my original diagnosis of the Y-main shorted... am I missing something or am I on the right track?

Samsung PN50C490B3DXZA power issue
Plasma tv was on loud pop wife says it shut down. When I came in the tv was lifeless. Unplugged it and waited a while. Plugged back in red standby was on. Tried turning the set on got a cycle of 5 tries where the relays click and then nothing.
I have unplugged the x main board same relay clicks.
If I unplug the logic board it will signal the tv is on plays the tune.
Sounds to me like a short, where should I start?

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
I'm a newbie as well I have a 50" Samsung plasma that has issues and they are quoting $300 just to look at it. I have never fixed a TV but am a mechanic and I can solder. I learned from copper plumbing and trailer wiring. I have read many of the threads and can't find my model here, or a problem that seems close to mine but I am sure its easier than I am imagining.
