Hello monopoly96 I have the same insignia ns 32lcd as you and the same problem to go with it. I wanted to know if you ever figured it out? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

In response to vinceroger yes, so i'm pretty sure it isn't the psu being the problem especially since it works like its supposed to (to my knowledge) without the main board plugged in. Since the on button and remote seem to do nothing could it be a problem with the main board?

Alright the large filter cap reads 290v before and after the on button is pressed and fluctuates down to about 275v in sync with the 24v fluctuations. It seems like it ignores the power button completely. Without any board plugged into the psu the large cap reads 170v.

Thanks for your response! Thats what I thought at first and replaced all the caps, but the problem was still there so i borrowed a friend's tv's psu and it did the same thing so i'm thinking the main board could have a problem with how its activating the primary on the psu since without it plugged in the 24v pins are 0 and with it they go from 24 down to 9 whenever the standby light blinks and back up to 24. Any other ideas would be much appreciated since i've got no clue what could be bad specifically.

  • insignia ns-32lcd

Hi I have an insignia ns-32lcd with no picture or sound when it is plugged in only the red standby led blinks and will not change even with the power button pressed. Power supply voltages are correct when board c is disconnected (pics below) but when it is connected the 24v output fluctuates from 24 down to about 9 and back up again in sync with the standby light. I know the power supply is good since I know a friend with the same tv and I tested with that, still the same problem. Any ideas on how to fix this?

  • Re: Insignia ns-32lcd 32" TV

Thanks! The large filter cap seems to be low on voltage so i assume there's something wrong upstream of that on the hot side like you said. I read through that thread the other day and i guess i missed that post. I'll go through the semiconductors upstream of that tomorrow if i get a chance.

The 24v rail is bouncing with the inverter in and with it out. I'm not sure if that's the schematic for my PS since mine seems to have a 4800CS instead of an SSC9500 IC. Btw not sure if this is useful or not but the previous owner said it went pop before it died.

Also i don't know how i forgot to include this but the tv never changes from black screen and the standby red flashing light never turns blue showing the tv is on. Anyone have a clue on what would be causing this?

  • Insignia ns-32lcd 32" TV

I have an insignia ns-32lcd the TV's standby red light flashes continuously once plugged in but no response from on button or remote. The power supply output of 5v is constant and the logic board is sending the on signal successfully. However, both 24v outputs of the power supply start at 24v regardless of the power button being pressed and fluctuate from 24v down to 9v and back up to 24v every few seconds. I've replaced all of the capacitors on the power supply board except for the large filter cap which reads about 295v when the TV is plugged in and is rated for 450v 150uf. Could this be the...

Hi everyone my name is Nathan. I'm from Michigan and i'm an electronics student with a decent amount of knowledge on electronics although I have limited experience with repairing TV's and i'm looking to improve on this and hopefully fix a broken TV i have been given.
