• LG RZ-32LZ55 Display issues - lines on LCD screen

I picked up an LG TV from the street recently. The model is RZ-32LZ55. For once the screen was intacted and not smashed but upon plugging it in, it's obvious that it was thrown out because of an issue with the display. As you can see from the pictures, there's sections of display that has lines running through it horizontally and vertically. When I squeeze the top of the TV frame, the lines would slightly shift position but no matter that I do, it's always there. All ribbon cables were connected and clamped down.

I've connected a PS2 to test and everything else sound and all appears...

• Le40c750r2k video glitches and TV restarts after board replacement

Hi guys,

Me again with the troublesome Samsung LE46C750R2K I picked up from the street. So I installed everything into the TV tonight and held my breath as I plugged the system into the T-Con. I breathed a sigh of relieve when the display show a picture and didn't blow up on me. It ran for a little bit before it started it glitch out on me. Occasionally the speakers will buzz a little, picture will have artefacts and sometimes the picture would freeze together with the sound before the TV tries to reboot itself. At times it fails to reboot and I have to physically pull the plug...

• Can a T-Con board damage a main board

Some time ago, I picked up a thrown out Samsung LE46C750R2K TV off the side of a street. It's back cover was opened so clearly somebody had a look at it and deemed it unrepairable. Nevertheless, I grabbed it, put it in my car and took it home.

On close examination, I found 2 of the tiny IC chips on the main board had a hole in it and was shorting to ground and so I concentrated on that but also checked the PSU for any signs of wrong voltages but there was none and all seemed to be in good order. I ordered a new main board, installed it onto the TV where it worked with the standby...

• Re: Samsung LE40C750R2K capacitor on PSU blew up when unplugging inverter board

Thanks for the explanation and bring to me the awareness of the dangers messing with the inverter. Luckily I didn't get a shock and have dodged a bullet this time.

PS board, inverter and the main board that arrived this morning, works fine. I've not plugged it into the T-con yet, and I'll make another thread about that in regards to possible risks of plugging this on since this TV has an unknown history.

I replaced the capacitor and the power board appears to be fine. The backlight still works but I'm sure as hell I won't be disconnecting any leads with the power on anymore.

Interestingly, I checked the capacitor with a components tester and it was reading fine. A quick check with a multimeter also shows that there's no shorts in it.

Yes that's precisely what I did. The board that CNI801 connects to has a lot of mini transformer in the same style as the 2 big ones on the power board. This may very well be the balancer board you're talking about, I'm not 100% certain of the terminology but it powers the backlight.

What I'm intrigued about is why the surge happened only when I unplugged it whilst it was on, but nothing happened when I powered the PSU alone to check for voltages....

• Samsung LE40C750R2K capacitor on PSU blew up when unplugging inverter board

Hi guys,

So I was messing with the power board to my Samsung LE40C750R2K TV whilst I was waiting for the main board to arrive and in hindsight was probably a stupid idea but I hadn't anticipated for what actually happened.

I had the power board connected the the inverter board only and switched on the TV. The backlight came on. I then unplugged the the cable connecting the power board to the inverter board (CNI801) and as soon as I did this, the blue capacitor (CI826) next to the connector starting sparking and smoke came out from it, and was especially violent at the...

I went to the Samsung website but there doesn't appear to be firmware available apart from 2 upgrade files which appears to be the same

I wan to be sure that the board intended for the 40 inch will work in the 46 inch before I commit to buy the replacement board.Re: Can I replace a TV main board wi...een size<br />...

• Can I replace a TV main board with one from a smaller screen size

Hello,

I have in my possession a Samsung LE47C750R2K with a faulty main board which has a part number of BN41-01423B BN94-03388E.

It seems like this board is used in both 40 inch and 47 inch screen TVs (LE40C750R2K and LE47C750R2K). The boards are physically identical with the same part number but there's a bar code sticker on it with the TV model written on it.

I would like to know whether it's possible to fit a main board intended for the LE40C750R2K in a LE47C750R2K. Or are there some sort of programming to make it work for a particular screen size...

• Re: Panasonic Plasma TV TX-P50X50B - Shorted power supply

Hi all.

I don't come here regularly so I had missed this thread when new posts were added. I thought I had given this thread a closure by posting my final fix but obviously for some reason, I never.

Despite all the time devoted to fix the board, I never got to the bottom of the problem so in the end I replaced the entire board pulled from a 60 inch version which used a newer version of the power board. The TV is used in the living room has been working fine ever since.

I still have...

• Samsung LT27B300 no sound

Hi,

I have acquired a Samsung LT27B300 LED TV which I was informed that the sound does not work. The picture works fine.

I tested it and found that the sound is indeed faulty as the speaker would give out a quiet pop or crackle every so often when sound is supposed to be played. I dismantled the TV and looked at the AV board paying p[articular attention to the speaker connector and all seemed OK and there isn't anything obviously wrong.

This TV doesn't have a headphone jack or indeed any audio out so I cannot test an alternative output.

I have...

• Re: Samsung le32c530f1w not switching on

Just an update to say that I've replaced the AV board and the set is now working. Indeed the power supply wasn't the issue.

I'm still keen to find out what may have caused the AV board to fail as you claim that it is common for the Samsung C series.

Yes, my bad. It is 0.7V. I probably misread my multimeter.

So based on the findings, we can conclude that the failure is not the PSU and that I should start investigating the main board? Is it feasible to track down and repair main board problems or will I be better off ordering a replacement board altogether?

I found this thread https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=36322. It sounds interesting however I am able to switch the TV "on" from the touch panel. Any thoughts about this?Re:...

• Re: Samsung le32c530f1w not switching on

I tried the heating both boards with a heatgun on low setting for about 30 second but still no sign on life. I have attached images of the main board as requested. I personally so not see any obvious signs of anything wrong with the main board.

I did some more observations and here's a summary of my findings...

When the TV is on standby, the capacitor does not buzz

When the TV is attempting to power up, the capacitor buzzes

With the main board disconnected but IVD board connected,...

• Re: Samsung le32c530f1w not switching on

I found that I had an old electrolytic capacitor lying around in my components box with the correct values and went ahead with replacing it. You were all correct, the spare capacitor didn't help at all; the buzzing was eliminated but the TV still doesn't switch on.

Ok, how would I know for sure if the main board is indeed faulty?

I have 25v going to the inverters
I have 5.1v
I have 12.1v going to the speakers
Voltage across CM803 is 25v

I found that the backlight comes on when I disconnect the cable the main board and the cap stopped buzzing.

Sorry, I can't seem to edit my above post...

Will this one be suitable? I know the size is much larger but it won't be an issue as I can fit it elsewhere on the board.
