Did you ever solve this? I have the same issue.

Ok, one more question for you guys.

My X-main (zsus) board is labeled
    PCB NO: LJ41-05987A
    PCA NO: LJ92-01515A/B/C/D

I've found a similar board here, except it's labeled A/B/C/D/E/F/G.

    So, two questions:

What do the PCB and PCA models represent, exactly, and how close of a match do I...

The screenshot shows some of the haze and the artifacts.

Ok, quick update, I now have learned that samsung's X-main is a zsus to he rest of the world. So that helps somewhat.

Ok guys, I finally had a chance to pull the cover and do some investigation.

    Here's what it looks like:

From what I can tell, there's a main board, logic board, x-main, y-sus, power board... no z-sus board.

The original symptoms persist, flickering on bright screen, remnants of past images. Now, though, I'm also noticing this pink haze on white areas of the picture.

I've read that this pink haze is called "banding" and that you need to adjust the Vs...

Howyd again folks. This is a tv that I repaired with a new mainboard a few years back, acting up again.

The left side gets distorted and weird looking. Sometimes there are strange horizontal lines going all the way across.

    Here is an image:

The symptoms seem to resolve on their own after about 20 minutes of use, but I am not going to bet that this will continue.

This TV seems like a heck of a bad design! Thanks in advance for any help guys!

Ok, it sounds like the Zsus is the consensus.

That seems to explain the snowy picture and the burn-in appearance, does it also explain the flickering on white images? The video shows it pretty well, any time the screen is mostly white there's a strong flicker.

    Ok, thank you.

Any ideas how I should test that? Or do I just replace it?

Also, does this explain the flickering alone or also the residual images?

    Thanks again, you rock!

Hey guys, here to ask you experts for a hand on a few tv issues. I've repaired them before with your help but they just won't keep working!

First one is this Samsung. I replaced the power board a few years back when it wouldn't power on and it's been a great tv, but now it's doing some strange things.

Here's a video: (Pardon the dryer sounds in the background!)

For reference for anyone else with this issue:

A new main board resolved this problem.

Thank you all for your help!

    Thank you, jaimegmr.

A quick read of the service manual shows the probable repair route at the top:

Apparently it's a little IC that I'd need to order from Sanyo.

I get what it's saying about 'easy access', the solder points are pretty well isolated from other parts.... but I don't know that I have the equipment or the skill to remove and replace it. I had a hard time soldering capacitors into a power board....

    A little more info:

The green power light is cycling on and off on its own. I didn't notice that until today. It stays on for maybe 30 seconds then turns off for a few seconds then comes back on.

Also, I tried jumpering the bl_on pin to the 5v stdby pin and the backlight turns on, but there is still no picture.

I can't find a schematic for this board. I know I have model number dp46849, chassis 02, and the main board is the n7eg. Anyone have any idea where I can find schematics for this thing?

    Unrelated: is there...

Thanks for your help once again, newtothis!

BL_ON stays at zero, whether the power button is pressed or not.

is PS_ON/OFF that white pin at the bottom?

If so, that one shows 5V when the green light is on and 0 when it is off.

I just picked this TV up yesterday. I had a lot of fun with my last repair with the help of you guys, so I figured I'd try it out again!

And after lots of reading on this site, I was able to take apart a 26"lcd, find the bad capacitors, and solder in new ones with no help at all.

    So, about this new tv:

When I plug it in, it does nothing.

I hit the power button, and a green light comes on in the front. The screen does not come on. Pressing the power button turns the green light off and on but nothing else.

    I took off the panel...

  • Re: Samsung PN50A450 - No Power

Installed the new main board today.

Fired right up with no problem!

This turned out to be a heck of a good deal. Thank you all for your help. I'm soldering a few new capacitors into a Viewsonic sometime this week, so I'm sure you'll be hearing more from me as I venture into even more unknown territory.

    Take care!

    Thank you, fellas.

I ordered a replacement board on ebay. I will replace it next week when it comes in, and I plan to update this thread with the results for the future use of anyone else with the same problem.

This was very educational and I appreciate all of the input.

    Ok, you guys are awesome.

    Last question:

I found this on ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Samsung-BN94-01646A-Main-Unit-Samsung-PN50A450P1DXZA-/

I can't find a part number on the main board that matches anything on ebay for this model. It has several stickers with with different part numbers.

How do I tell if this eBay board will match my unit?Re: Samsung PN50A450 - No Power<br /...P1DXZA-/

    Very cool, thank you!

Maybe this is a dumb question, but if I jumped the PWR_ON like that while it was all plugged in, would that make it work?

  • Re: Samsung PN50A450 - No Power

    LVDS is unplugged.
Power supply to main board is unplugged at main board.
Jumpered from 3-4 on pins on control board.
    Jumpered 6-7 and 9-10 on CN807.

Tried to turn on and didn't do anything.

Noticed that pin 6 is RTN, not GND as Tom mentioned...so I jumped pin 7 to the ground and the tv turned on. It's flashing white red and green and purple, etc. now.

    Is this a clue?
