If the back lighting is from the inverter board could this cause it to flash on/off? Found this on Ebay, anybody think its worth 20 bucks to try?

Did anybody ever figure this Sceptre 32 out? I have 2 of these sets approx. 2 years old and both are doing the same thing. I changed the bulk cap in 1 set, but the backlight is still flashing on/off after the TV has been on for about an hour. Any help would be great, hate to replace something that can be fixed.
